Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - A man is behind bars charged with shooing and killing a man at a central Las Vegas bar, an act that Las Vegas Metro Police are calling a random one.

Police originally got the call around 3:20 Sunday morning from the PT’s Place at Charleston and Decatur, where arriving officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim, later identified as Timothy Hartley, was transported to UMC Trauma where he was pronounced deceased.

The investigation by the LVMPD Homicide Section indicated the suspect, later identified as 24-year-old Anthony Balderas, was inside the bar playing video poker. The victim walked in a short time later and sat away from Balderas. At some point, Balderas walked up behind the victim and shot him in the back. Officers located and apprehended Balderas later that day.

Police say they was no connection between the men and that the shooting seems to be a purely random act. Helping them to identify Balderas was not only surveillance video from the scene, but the fact that Balderas left his debit card behind at the bar.
