Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - Two murders on the valley's east side remain under investigation Friday, with Metro announcing an arrest in one of the cases.
One happened at a home near Eastern and Oakey. Police say a visitor to the house got into some sort of disagreement with the person who lived there and shot and killed the man.
Just before noon on Friday, Las Vegas Metro Police said they had arrested the man they were looking for.
They say that 29-year- old John Anthony Carrillo had arrived at the house to conduct a narcotics transaction. Once Carrillo entered the home, he shot the victim and proceeded to steal a white Nissan Altima from the residence and flee the area.
Carrillo was arrested Thursday night by LVMPD officers in the 300 block of East Silverado Ranch Boulevard just after a deadly shooting that occurred in the Henderson Police Department’s jurisdiction.
As they continued their investigation, it became clear to Metro that Carrillo had been involved in several criminal incidents since last Monday, including domestic battery, Grand Larceny Auto and Robbery. Carrillo is also the suspect in a Wednesday shooting that took place at a convenience store near lamb and Charleston where a patron was shot.
The second incident occurred just before noon at a home near Craig and Lamb. In that one, police say that a group from a business had gone to watch a scheduled fight between two co-workers who had an ongoing beef. As the fight was happening, one of the people supporting one of the fighters fired into the crowd that was watching, killing a man. Two others were wounded. A 4th person injured was dropped off later at North Vista Hospital.
Metro says they’re looking for two Hispanic men in their late teens to early 20s, and that anyone with more info is asked to call Metro’s Homicide Division, or you can remain anonymous by using Crime Stoppers (702-385-5555, www.crimestoppersofnv.com).
