Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - A trial date has been set for the woman accused of strangling her 7 year-old son and leaving his body near Mountain Springs last may.

Trial for Samantha Moreno-Rodriguez will start on February 28th. The district attorney’s office say they’re still considering whether to pursue the death penalty against Moreno-Rodriguez.
The body of 7 year-old Liam Husted was discovered by hikers off a trail near Mountain Springs back on May 28th. The boy's identity was a mystery for several days until someone in California told authorities that Liam looked like a boy who lived nearby.
Working on that lead, police positively identified the boy, which led them to issue a warrant for Moreno-Rodriguez. She was eventually arrested in Denver and extradited back to Las Vegas.
