Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – Three people were killed over the weekend in separate auto-pedestrian accidents.
The first happened Saturday evening on the east side near McLeod and Pecos-McLeod. Police say a man in his 60s was crossing the street in a scooter when he was struck. The man was rushed to a hospital but died from his injuries.
A couple of hours later, another man in his 60s was inside of a marked crosswalk but crossing against the light when was he struck at Boulder Highway and Tropicana. That pedestrian was then run over by a second car. Police say that while the vehicle that hit the person stayed on scene, the one that ran over the body fled. Metro is looking for a white Volkswagen Passat that would have front-end damage.
The third fatal crash happened early Monday at the intersection of Martin Luther King and Vegas Drive. The driver in that incident also fled the scene, but no details on the car involved have been released. Metro Police are expected to release more information on that one later on Monday.
