Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - Another brutal weekend on Valley roads came to a close Sunday with three separate auto-pedestrian accidents.
The first happened near Jean on I-15. NHP says a vehicle had pulled over on the left shoulder of the southbound lanes and a passenger who left the car to get some belongings was hit. Right now no charges have been filed, nor has the victim’s name been released.
In the second incident, a man was killed after a pickup truck went onto the sidewalk and struck him on Sahara east of Paradise. Police say they have a good description of the driver who fled the scene.
Then a few hours later, a man was struck while trying to cross Lake Mead west of Lamb. He was taken to U.MC. but died from the impact. The driver in that incident is also being sought.
Metro is asking anyone with more information on the hit and run crashes to contact them. You can remain anonymous by calling Crimestoppers at 702-385-5555 or by going online to www.crimestoppersofnv.com.
Also over the weekend, 5 people were injured early Saturday in a crash involving a wrong-way driver on I-15 near the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
NHP said the driver of a sedan heading north in the southbound lanes slammed into another car heading south. Investigators say the driver of the car that was going the wrong way is in critical condition. It’s not known if impairment was a factor.
