Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – The huge rebuild of the I-15/Tropicana interchange is in the final stages, but more pain will be felt by drivers thisweek as the project approaches the finish line.
Through Friday morning at 5, Tropicana will be closed over I-15 for realignment work. For over a year, that stretch of Tropicana has had what’s called a “diverging diamond” interchange pattern, which has caused a lot of confusion for drivers in that very busy area.
When Tropicana re-opens on Friday morning, drivers will see a more traditional east-west pattern, but Tropicana will still be down to just two lanes in each direction.
During the closure time, all the on and off ramps involving I-15 and Tropicana will also be closed.
There is some good news though, as next Friday morning at 5, the long-awaited flyover from 15 South to eastbound Tropicana will open.
