Two arrested in road rage shooting: Father, daughter wounded

Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – A 30-year old man and his 6-year-old daughter were wounded Wednesday morning in a shooting that North Las Vegas Police say may have stemmed from road rage.

It happened just before 11am near Lone Mountain and North 5th.
Police say after the shooting, the victim was able to drive his car to a nearby parking lot, where he called police

Both the man and the girl were transported to U.M.C. Trauma where they’re listed in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

Several hours after the shooting, NLVPD reported that they had made a couple of arrests. 23-year-old Donavyn Stern was taken into custody at a home near Craig and North 5th.

A second suspect, identified as 39-year-old Zachery Stern was taken into custody a short time later. The elder Stern was identified as the younger man’s uncle. Detectives determined Zachary Stern had attempted to destroy and/or conceal evidence related to the investigation.

Both Sterns were booked into the North Las Vegas Community Correctional Center. Donavyn Stern faces numerous counts, including four for attempted murder. Zachery Stern faces charges of destroying and/or concealing evidence, prohibited person in possession of a firearm, resisting a police officer, and other offenses.
