Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – An elderly man and a young girl were killed in a pair of auto-pedestrian accidents on Tuesday, and drivers in both cases are still being sought.
The first case happened in Henderson when a 71-year-old man was struck and killed in a marked crosswalk near Stufflebeam and Russell.
Witnesses say the driver of the car that hit the man briefly stopped but then left the scene.
The man who was hit was rushed to Sunrise Hospital, but died from his injuries.
The second incident occurred in North Las Vegas. Police say two vehicles were driving recklessly down Belmont near Carey. One of the vehicles ran a stop sign and slammed into two other vehicles, then hit a young girl who was on the sidewalk. The girl was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the car that ran the stop sign ran off, while the driver of the second car that was also driving recklessly stayed on scene and was arrested.
The drivers of the two vehicles that were struck weren’t seriously hurt.
The names of the two victims have yet to be released.
