The first occurred Saturday night in a neighborhood near Jones and Vegas Drive. Police say a group arrived at a house on Long Valley Drive, entering that home with a long rifle.

They then say that a struggled ensued inside the residence, and that there was either an exchange of gunfire or the resident of the house fired, striking one of the group. A man in that group, only identified as being in his late 20s to early 30s, was killed. Police are still sorting out why the group came to that house, but say they think the homeowner knew the person who was killed.

The second shooting occurred Sunday afternoon at a warehouse near Tropicana and Valley View. A worker at the warehouse said he noticed someone was stealing his car. That worker got a gun and confronted the man taking the car, but when the man began to drive off the worker fired shots, striking the car thief in the head.
