Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – The Bureau of Land Management says a wildfire burning east of Mountain Springs was human caused.
The Bird Springs Fire inside the Red Rock National Conservation Area was first reported on Monday morning, and as of Tuesday afternoon had grown to 150 acres. The fire was said to be fully contained on Wednesday morning, but firefighters will remain on scene for several more days to make sure it's completely controlled.
Investigators say they believe the fire was sparked by a group that was out target shooting, which is illegal in that area.
No structures have been threatened and no roads have needed to be closed.
