
Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - A mother charged with killing her 7-year-old son has agreed to plead guilty and serve a minimum of 28 years in prison.

Samantha Moreno-Rodriguez pleaded guilty to charges of murder and child abuse, neglect or endangerment resulting in substantial bodily harm, according to court documents filed last week.
As part of the plea deal, Moreno-Rodriguez will serve a sentence of 28 years to life, documents said. She will be eligible for parole after serving 20 years.

Liam’s identity was not initially known, but investigators got a lead when a neighbor from San Jose recognized a police sketch of the boy and alerted law enforcement.
Two weeks after the boy’s body was discovered, Moreno-Rodriguez was arrested in Denver.
