Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - A woman was charged with animal abandonment and resisting arrest after leaving her 2-year-old Goldendoodle at Harry Reid International Airport and boarding her flight alone.
Metro police released security video of the incident on February 2nd, showing the woman abandoning her dog at the JetBlue ticket counter around 11:30 p.m.
The passenger, identified as Germiran Bryson, attempted to board a JetBlue flight but failed to complete the necessary paperwork to fly with the dog as a service animal. Airline staff denied her a boarding pass, but Bryson left the dog at the ticket counter and proceeded to her gate.
When police found Bryson, she was unapologetic, claiming the Goldendoodle had a tracking device and someone would return it home.
JetBlue, named after the airline by the rescue, spent 10 days with animal control after his owner refused to claim him. Now neutered, vaccinated, and ready for his forever home, JetBlue awaits his new family.
The woman who abandoned the dog now faces charges of animal abandonment and resisting arrest.
