Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – A woman who faces charges in a fatal crash earlier this week had multiple shots of tequila before leaving a local bar to head for home, according to a report from Las Vegas Metro Police.

Police say that 38 year-old Lisa Geurina drank at least five shots of tequila at a Jackpot Joanie’s before allegedly running a red light and causing a crash that killed a father and left a 3 year-old boy in critical condition early Wednesday at the intersection of Centennial Parkway and Shaumber.
The arrest report said a witness saw Geurina leave her Jeep at the crash scene and flee on foot to her nearby apartment building.
When police located Geurina, she denied going out or being involved in a crash, saying that she had been sleeping. However, her husband had a text from her that showed she said she was going to Jackpot Joanie's at 2 a.m.
A bartender at Jackpot Joanie's told police he had served Geurina five shots of tequila while she gambled and later observed her leave the bar and get into her Jeep, the arrest report said.
She is facing charges of DUI resulting in death, DUI resulting in substantial bodily harm, two counts of reckless driving resulting in substantial bodily harm, and leaving the scene of a crash.
Bail was set at $100,000. The judge hearing the case said that if Geurina makes bail, she’s not allowed to drive and will be placed on electronic monitoring.
Attorney’s representing Geurina say that her blood was taken more four hours after the crash. State statutes require a blood draw within two hours.
