
Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – A woman charged with running a stop sign while driving impaired and killing a man in a crash pleaded guilty to her charges on Tuesday.

The accident happened back on June 1st on Centennial Parkway just west of 215. Prosecutors say Lisa Guerino was driving drunk when she ran a stop sign and hit a car being driven by 37-year-old Stephen Palmatier, Jr. Palmatier Jr. was killed, and his young son was badly hurt. Palmatier’s wife and young daughter escaped serious injury.
Police say that after the crash, Guerino fled the scene and went home, which was close to the accident scene. Police traced the license plate of the Jeep to her address and when cops showed up, Guerino claimed she had been at home when the crash happened.
However, a bartender said that he had served Guerino multiple shots of tequila at a nearby tavern before she got back behind the wheel.
Geurino pleaded guilty to charges of DUI resulting in death, DUI resulting in substantial bodily harm, reckless driving resulting in substantial bodily harm, and leaving the scene of a crash.
Guerino is scheduled to be sentenced on November 8th.
