Woman killed after juvenile driving a stolen car runs red light

Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – Las Vegas Metro Police say that a 14-year-old boy driving a stolen car sped through a red light and struck another vehicle Thursday morning, killing that car’s driver.

The crash happened just before 6am at the intersection of Buffalo and Desert Inn.

Investigators say the 14-year-old and his 15-year-old passenger were both taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver who was killed in the crash was identified as a 50-year-old woman, but her name has yet to be released.

The death marks the 135th traffic-related fatality in Metro’s jurisdiction so far in 2024.
