Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – One person is under arrest following the discovery of a body in a freezer at a home on the valley’s east side.
Police were called to a home near Vegas Valley and Nellis to perform a welfare check on a woman in her 60s who hadn’t been seen in a week.
Police say when no one answered, they entered their home looking for the woman. Instead, they found two people who they say were acting suspiciously.
Those two were detained as the search continues. Upon finding a locked freezer, police enlisted the help of a locksmith who was able to open it up, and the body was found.
On Thursday morning, Metro announced that they had arrested the woman's former roommate, 37-year-old Daniel Roush, and charged him with murder. Roush is currently being held without bail.
The case is still under investigation, and anyone with more information is being asked to call Metro's Homicide Division at 702-828-3521, or by email at homicide@lvmpd.com.
