Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - If you’re heading to McCarran Airport for a flight out you may want to get there a little bit earlier if you’ve received one of the new drivers licenses that the Nevada DMV has begun to issue.

The agency said Wednesday that TSA screening machines at security checkpoints have been having an issue reading the bars codes on the back of the licenses.

The statement from the DMV reads, "The new Nevada license design conforms to the latest national driver's license standards. However, the Transportation Security Administration at U.S. airports may have difficulty reading the license with a barcode scanner. We are working with the TSA and will update the public when the issue is resolved. Allow yourself extra time to complete airport security screening."

The Nevada DMV started giving out new licenses in July.
