Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – Following an unsuccessful run for the Governor’s office, former North Las Vegas May John Lee on Monday said that he would be running against incumbent Democrat Steven Horsford for the seat in Congressional District 4.

In a news release, Lee takes credit for leading North Las Vegas “from the brink of bankruptcy.” Before he became mayor, Lee served 14 years in the Nevada Legislature.

“Just as I revitalized North Las Vegas, I’m committed to using the same expertise and conservative principles to rescue our country from the economic challenges we’re facing,” Lee remarked. “It’s time for someone to represent our district who understands the needs of our community and has a track record of fixing the most complex problems, not creating them.”

Horsford has already announced his intention to run for re-election. The Democrat has held the seat twice. He won in 2012, lost in 2014, then took the seat back in 2018 and has held it ever since.
