Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - The Nevada Department of Transportation and the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles are warning of a texting scheme circulating both inside and outside of Nevada.

The text messages make claims of unpaid toll road fees and ask recipients to click through to a website to pay and avoid being reported to the DMV.

Of course, Nevada does not collect any tolls on public roads, meaning that any claims of toll road fees in the state of Nevada are illegitimate.

The Federal Trade Commission offers online resources to recognize and report text and other scams here.
