Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – Nevada casinos ended 2022 on a high not, taking in more than a billion dollars from gamblers in December according to new figure released by the Nevada Gaming Control Board.

The win was the 5th-highest ever, and marked the 22nd-straight month that the state’s casino take was over a billion.
As expected, casinos on the Las Vegas Strip were the biggest winners, taking in more than $814 million, up 25% from November.
Compared with December of 2021, off-Strip casinos brought in $136.8 million, just above last year's win of $136.2 million.
While other parts of the state like Sparks (an increase of 24.4%), Wendover (20.1%) and Mesquite (11.4%) posting big increases, other areas saw a decline. Casinos in South Lake Tahoe saw a big drop (15.7%), along with the Boulder Strip (8.0%) and downtown Las Vegas (6.9%).
