Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - There are many different sources of stress, but by far the most prominent in the past few years has been the COVID-19 pandemic. In fact, a recent survey found that one in three Americans sometimes feel so stressed about the pandemic that it hurts their ability to make basic decisions. Overall stress levels are not uniform across the country, though, and certain states worry more than others about specific issues.

WalletHub compared the 50 states across 41 key indicators of stress to determine the places to avoid and achieve a more relaxing life, ranging ranges from average hours worked per week to the personal bankruptcy rate to the share of adults getting adequate sleep, and found Nevada is totally stressed out.

In fact, only one state is rated as being more stressed out than Nevada, which topped the list in “Family-Related” stress” and “Divorce Rate”. Nevada also  ranked 7th in “Money-Related” stress and 10th in “Health and Safety” stress. Nevada also fares poorly in “job security” (only Hawaii ranked lower), and “Psychologists per Capita” (only 3 other states have fewer).

Overall, Louisiana was ranked as the “most-stressed” state, followed by Nevada, New Mexico, West Virginia and Mississippi.

To escape the stress, Nevadans don’t have far to go. Utah was ranked as the “least-stressed” state, followed by Minnesota, South Dakota, Wisconsin and New Hampshire.
