Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - Nevada is always looked at as a popular retirement destination, but a new survey from WalletHub shows that you could do a lot better...and a lot worse

To determine the best states to retire, WalletHub compared the 50 states across 46 key indicators of retirement-friendliness, from financial factors like tax rates and the cost of living to things like access to quality medical care and fun activities.

Nevada finished 28th overall.

Helping Nevada’s overall ranking was a 5th-place finish in the “Affordability” category, but low marks for “Quality of Life” (42nd) and “Health Care (43rd) killed the Silver State’s overall score.

No surprise, really, that Florida topped WalletHub’s list, but the rest of the top 5 were cold-weather states: Minnesota, Colorado, Wyoming and South Dakota.

WalletHub deemed Kentucky the worst state in which to retire, followed by Louisiana, Mississippi, Washington and New Mexico.
