Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - There are many different sources of stress, from inflation to work deadlines to relationship tensions. On top of those stressors, 77% of adults are stressed out by the future of the nation. Overall stress levels aren’t the same across the country, though, and certain states worry more than others about specific issues.

The financial website WalletHub compared the 50 states across 40 key indicators of stress to help people determine where to live in order to achieve a more relaxing life. WalletHub looked at factors ranging from the average hours worked per week to the personal bankruptcy rate to the share of adults getting adequate sleep.

And Nevada? We’re stressed. Boy, are we stressed.

In fact, the WalletHub study found Nevada to be the second-most stressed state in the nation. Only New Mexico fared worse.

Contributing to Nevada’s low overall score were high rankings in the “Divorce” (2nd) and “Family-Related Stress (2nd) categories. There were also top-10 finishes in “Money-Related Stress” (8th), “Work-Related Stress” (5th), and “Health and Safety-Related Stress” (4th)

Stressing out along with New Mexico and Nevada in the top 5 were Louisiana, West Virginia and Mississippi.

Residents of Nebraska were rated as least-stressed overall, followed by Minnesota, New Hampshire, South Dakota and Iowa.
