Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – Nye County authorities seized 7 tigers from a private property on Wednesday.
Officers spent most of Wednesday at the property tranquilizing the big cats enough until they were deemed safe to move. Officials says they will be taken to an unnamed sanctuary.
In Nye County, it is unlawful to any person, corporation, partnership, or other legal entity to import, transfer, sell, purchase, or possess an animal classified as special conditions within Nye County unless that person, corporation, partnership, or other legal entity holds a permit or is exempt from holding a permit, a county code states.
The owner of the property, Karl Mitchell, was said to be cooperative at first, but was later was arrested after getting into a scrape with one of the deputies.
