
Las Vegas, NV (KXNT/NCSO) - The body believed to be that of missing pilot Michael Martin was recovered Tuesday from the Mount Jefferson area, northeast of Round Mountain.
The recovery took place at approximately 11,300 feet and was carried out by Heavy D Sparks Recovery, based in Salt Lake City. The operation was coordinated by Nye County Emergency Management and the Nye County Sheriff's Office.
Positive identification could not be made of the remains, and that information will be released by the Clark County corners office in the near future.
Martin’s plane was discovered last week. He had departed from the North Las Vegas airport on January 2nd, but his family didn’t report him missing until January 5th.
