CARSON CITY – The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles will be offering extended business hours to accommodate customers needing credentials to vote in this year’s election.

Through Saturday, November 2, 2024, customers may come into the DMV’s metro offices as a walk-in customer to be assisted from 8:30 a.m. -11:30 a.m.
Monday through Saturday. No appointment will be necessary during this timeframe.

In addition, on Monday November 4, 2024, and Tuesday, November 5 (Election Day), DMV metro offices will be open extended hours from 7:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. to assist customers needing credentials to be able to vote.

Nevadans who hold a valid driver's license, ID card or even an interim document issued at the DMV have several options for voter registration. The DMV, Secretary of State and County Clerks operate an Automatic Voter Registration (AVR) system in accordance with a ballot initiative approved by voters in 2018 and the subsequent enabling legislation and regulations. The DMV does not register voters or maintain voter registration rolls, it submits voter registration data to the Secretary of State and the County Clerks.

The Silver State also offers same-day registration, which allows all legal voters with a license or ID to register in-person on Election Day and at any time during the two-week early voting period ending on November 2.

More information on who can vote, and how, is available on the Nevada Secretary of State’s website at nvsos.gov.
