Henderson BMX rider Connor Fields has been released from a Tokyo hospital.

USA Cycling says Fields will be coming home to Nevada after spending several days under care for a head injury at St. Luke's International Hospital.

Fields was involved a serious crash during the semifinals of the BMX racing event on July 30. He was heading into the first turn, positioned in second place when he crashed. Two other competitors rode over the top of him.

Fields won the gold medal in the same event at the Rio Games in 2016.
