Events include an art show, live music, cabaret shows, dance parties, a Quizzo night, karaoke, a screening of a Bowie documentary with Philly roots, and more.

The weeklong celebration memorializes the iconic Bowie, who died Jan. 10, 2016 from liver cancer.
"Philly Loves Bowie Week is a multi-day celebration of the art, music and legacy of David Bowie," explained Robert Drake, one of the co-organizers of the week — well, week-plus. "We've definitely redefined what the word 'week' means because it's 10 days long."
The idea came from his friend, Pat Brett, who said she feels as through she was raised by Bowie.
"David Bowie was always very well-loved in Philadelphia," she added. "In 2016 when David Bowie left us, I felt obligated to pay tribute to him."
Brett noted Bowie has deep Philly roots.
"He started performing here in 1972 and sold out all of his Tower shows," she recalled. "He recorded 'David Live' here in 1974 and it was during that period we found out he would be recording a new album at Sigma Sound Studios."
There will also be a huge musical celebration and auction Jan. 11 at Union Transfer, in which all proceeds will go to the pediatric cancer unit at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
"Because David Bowie passed away from cancer," Brett said, "we knew we wanted it to be cancer-related, and David Bowie loved children."
