PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — When all was said and done, these cheerleaders definitely became dancing queens for the day.

Professional performers from the cast of "Mamma Mia!" taught girls at a Police Athletic League (PAL) cheerleading camp in Port Richmond some moves from the Bucks County Playhouse's current production, which has become the venue's best-selling show.

The pros took a chance on the young dancers, showing them the choreography to "Dancing Queen."

Several of the girls said dancing can help improve their cheerleading skills, and much more.

"It was really fun to dance with people that do Broadway," said 12-year-old Milyannie Rodriguez, "because I never danced in front of people because I'm really shy, and it just helps me get confidence."

Michael Traupman, director of marketing at the Bucks County Playhouse, hopes all the kids gain that confidence and find themselves.

"Dance and music are things that elevate the human spirit, that give us the freedom to move and be ourselves," he said. "It's about being able to be whoever they want to be."
