Radnor Police Sgt. Joe Maguire remembers that Saturday clearly.
“That day, I was assigned to detectives. I was the on-call detective for the weekend. I was taking a class at the Radnor Fire Company,” he said.
It only took him about six or seven minutes to drive to the place where Tong’s body was discovered. She had been shot in the head.
A quarter-century later, Maguire has 40 years under his belt at the Radnor Township Police Department. Detective T.J. Schreiber, an 18-year veteran of the force, is now in charge of Tong’s case.
And now Tong’s daughter, Jeanette, who was 11 years old when her mother was murdered, has a family of her own.
The three of them are still hunting for her killer. Listen to their story and the story of Jennifer Tong in the new episode of KYW Newsradio's true crime podcast Gone Cold: Philadelphia Unsolved Murders, hosted by Kristen Johanson and Tom Rickert.
