PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — As sports teams begin to talk about practice and competition, it’s important to continue to remember how the virus spreads.

Essentially, nothing has changed, except our leadership's approach to opening the country. Clearly, professional sports are in a unique setting as they have the finances and other resources to test on a regular basis and provide workout centers that are as safe as possible.

In addition, they can prepare everything from travel and food services to medical support.

There are many other athletic groups and teams who would like to compete at all levels, which is where we need to be very careful and where each of us has to be our own best advocates, and don't think you can do what the professional athletes are doing — patience is key here.
