PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A Cambridge University study regarding COVID-19 provides a glimmer of hope. According to their research, a so-called second wave of COVID-19 could be delayed as much as 18 months by a concerted effort of wearing masks.

Our region has been doing far better than much of the country with consistent mask wearing, and although there continue to be cases in our community, the numbers have not reached levels we saw several months ago.

Although I am not thrilled about wearing a mask, I am getting more used to it and I am starting to feel genuinely sorry for individuals and groups that are ignoring mask wearing, because I know what will happen to many of them.

Remember, the virus doesn't change; only our behavior can change it.
