PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Can you get COVID-19 twice?

There are several reports where physicians have treated patients for COVID-19 and found they tested positive again after testing negative.

There is also support that antibodies to COVID-19 can decrease over time. However, this does not mean that COVID-19 is a superpower virus.

In fact, many viruses act this way.Once we are exposed to certain viruses, our immune system can ward the same virus off even if we have undetectable antibodies.

The problem with COVID-19 is that it's too early to know and because it's so infectious and because the death rate can be as high as one percent, we can't take the chance of telling people once they had the virus they are in the clear.
