PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Anxiety is a growing issue in adolescents and young adults. There are a variety of factors contributing to this, but according to new research, one of the issues may be a lack of exercise.
It has been known for quite some time that physical activity is associated with the secretion of pain relieving, anxiety reducing and even mood-enhancing hormones.
However, the majority of us engage in a physical activity only when it is fun or necessary, and with a growing tendency to relax by engaging in smart phone and computer-based activity, many are less likely to exercise.
One of the best ways to deal with anxiety is to get out and about and burn calories.
