PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — As children return to school, even in a staggered fashion, there is expected to be an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases, and many families will need to deal with safe quarantine at home.

If a family member is positive, it’s important to reduce spread, which means having the person quarantined isolated in a bedroom and using a separate bathroom.

But this is not always possible, and that's where vigorous steps need to be taken, including 6-feet social distancing, consistent wearing of masks for both infected person and family members, as well as sanitizing shared bathrooms every time the COVID-19 infected person uses it.

Spread is easy and you can't be careful enough. Your doctor or other health care provider can give you a complete list of ways to prevent spread, so don't hesitate to ask.
