PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — If you look at successful diets, there is usually a common denominator: They stress the importance of regularly scheduled meals, especially a healthy breakfast.

Breakfast is a very important meal that should be balanced and it should be consistent with what you eat the rest of the day.

Certainly fruit and grains are excellent choices, and oatmeal or yogurt can add a healthy boost.

Be careful about sugar-laden cereals and high fat options.

The key is taking the time to relax and grab a healthy meal, and avoid eating on the run or grabbing a breakfast cake or a fast food meal whenever possible.
