PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — SEPTA says a trolley accident in West Philadelphia has been cleared, and trolley traffic is no longer affected.
Around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, SEPTA's Heather Redfern said a CCT Paratransit vehicle collided with a minivan at 41st Street and Chester Avenue. The car then went into a spin, hitting a Route 13 trolley carrying 27 passengers.
The crash blocked access to the 41st Street trolley tunnel for three hours. The driver of the minivan was rushed to the hospital in serious condition.
Redfern says the drivers of the two other vehicles, and all the passengers in the car and on the trolley, have minor of injuries. The extent of those injuries is still unknown.
