PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — As the trial continues for the man accused of killing Temple University student Jenna Burleigh, a collection drive in her honor is now underway at the school.

At Temple's student center, you can get a cup of coffee and lunch — but you can also give.

Senior Najae Bolling and grad student Crashell Allen dropped off toiletries like conditioner, toothpaste and toothbrushes at a donation table set up just inside the main door.

"It was really difficult, so I wanted to make sure we kept her memory alive," Allen said of Burleigh.

Chris Carey, Senior Associate in the Dean of Students Office, said the donations go to "anyone experiencing homelessness" — an act of charity that Burleigh used to participate in.

"It's important not to forget," echoed Bolling. "And at Temple, we're such a close-knit family."

The donation tables will be back at Temple Jan. 23 and 24 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
