PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — SEPTA police are investigating the circumstances around a person found dead on top of a Market-Frankford train at Girard Station.
The body was discovered Monday just before noon. There's no word yet on the person's identity or how the person ended up on top of the train. Police are looking at surveillance video.
Full service has been restored on the Market-Frankford Line as of 2:15 p.m.
"There is no reason why anyone should be on top of a train, it's heart-wrenching," said SEPTA's Carla Showell-Lee.
She says the male victim was in his 20s.
She also says it will be up to the Philadelphia medical examiner to determine exactly how he died.
