Eagles getting ready for next week’s virtual draft

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Despite the current crisis, the NFL Draft will get underway on Thursday.

The Eagles are getting set for next week’s virtual draft, and vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl says they are eager to get started with the talent available.

“We’re excited. Third round, fourth round, second round, fifth round. We feel there’s players on every level of this draft, and we’ve stacked the board such,” he said.

In addition to draft picks, the three days often feature trades of both players and draft spots, and Eagles general manager Howie Roseman says that won’t change this year.

“We’re communicating on the phone during the draft anyway. We all have each other’s phone numbers. We all have multiple phone lines. I think that there will be the same level of communication,” Roseman said.

Many believe a wide receiver will be the Eagles choice in round one, but Roseman has made it clear that once again, a wide variety of options are on the table.
