PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — In preparation for the start of this year's Philadelphia Flower Show, which starts Friday, Bloom Philly window decorating contest winners were announced Thursday.
Jimmy Owens with the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society flower show explains their weeklong extravaganza of spring always starts with the Bloom Philly window decorating contest announcement.
"We give people a little bit of time to decorate. They submit their images to us and then we sit with our judges and decide who all the winners will be and then we announce it the day before we officially open the flower show," Owens said.
This year, they had some new categories including Most Instagrammable Display, which Thea Scotti of PJ Clarke's won.
She was also the Bloom Philly overall grand prize winner.
"I'm just so excited. I truly am," she said.
