Harlem Globetrotters surprise Haddonfield students during Zoom performance

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio)  A group of Haddonfield elementary school students were joined by a pair of special guests on a basketball video chat.

The 9-year-old boys known as the “Lizzy Buckets” were unable to perform their Harlem Globetrotters routine when their Elizabeth Haddon Elementary School talent show was canceled due to the pandemic.

So, when their performance went on Zoom, they got the surprise of their lives when two of the real Globetrotters joined in.

“I felt like in the climate that we’re in now, I think that it was great to do. I was excited I was able to do it. From there, it was about bringing that Globetrotter attitude,” said Globetrotter Cheese Chisholm, who joined fellow Globetrotter Hammer Harrison on the Zoom conference.

Chisholm, a graduate of Cherokee High School in Marlton who currently lives in New York City, says he hopes he inspired the potential future Globetrotters with a positive message while putting smiles on their faces.

“With kids, it’s keeping them happy, keeping them inspired to do all of this,” he said.
