Harry Hayman of Bynum Hospitality Group says after more than 25 years with the business, he is just as sad as the rest of Philly to see the lights go out.
“I opened her in 1995. Some of the greatest blues acts, live rollicking R&B, wonderful soul food,” Hayman said.
Over the years, big names such as Oprah to Alicia Keys were fans and ordered from that famous Warmdaddy’s menu.
However, even national recognition couldn’t undo the damage suffered from the pressures of COVID-19.
Warmdaddy’s had to close their doors for good, says Hayman.
“Well the decision was to close, you know, the pandemic and the ability to do business or not do business,” he said.
For those who can’t do without that soul food, Bynum Hospitality Group is honoring Warmdaddy’s by preparing food for takeout at their south kitchen restaurant location on South Broad Street.
