The 27-4 Rams are the third seed in the East Regional and on Saturday, they will take on the sixth seed Stonehill College in the first round up in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
The Rams are coached by basketball Hall of Famer Herb Magee.
"At the end of the season, you look at the season as a whole before you enter into the NCAA Tournament and I'm pleased," Magee told KYW Newsradio. "If you had said to me at the beginning of the year that you're team is going to be 27-4, I would say, 'We'll take it, right now.' "
Magee now has 1,123 wins in his career as the head coach at his alma mater. His team this season features four seniors who all enjoyed outstanding campaigns: forwards Josh Bradanese, DeVaughn Mallory and Prince Hickson, and guard Kylan Guerra.
"If your four seniors played as much in their career as mine have," Magee said, "they have not seen or faced anything they are not able to handle. I think that's been the case all year long because we've won a ton of close games."
Guerra in particular has had a spectacular season, earning Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Player of the Year honors.
He averages 15.6 points, 5.6 assists and 5.3 rebounds while averaging more than 40 minutes a game. His three-point bucket as time expired gave the Rams a 63-60 win over Felician in the quarterfinals of the CACC Tournament.
Stonehill brings an 18-11 record into the tournament.
"Typical Northeast 10 team," Magee said of the Skyhawks. "Good athletes, all can shoot, they run a lot of good stuff. Well coached. They are a very good basketball team that had great success during the year even though they lost 11 games. They play in a conference and they played one of the toughest schedules in the country from what I understand."
The winner on Saturday will face the winner of St. Thomas Aquinas and Dominican in the second round on Sunday.
Jefferson and Stonehill get underway at noon on Saturday.
