During the preliminary hearing, Isis Williams' mother took the stand.
She told the judge about the terrifying phone call she received from her daughter about Tyrese Lynch trying to kick down the door to their bedroom before, she says, she heard a gun shot and then nothing on the other line.
A police officer testified to finding Williams dead inside the bedroom, just a few feet away from her sleeping 5-day-old newborn baby.

Williams was shot four times, including in the head and neck, inside the North Woodstock Street home she shared with Lynch in Ogontz.
A homicide detective testified that he called Lynch, who said over the phone, “after I did what I did, my life is over.”
Lynch eventually turned himself into police.
The judge approved all the charges against Lynch, including murder and endangering the welfare of a child, and moved the case along to trial proceedings.
Just a year before Williams’ murder, the Philadelphia District Attorney's office charged Lynch with assaulting her, but later dropped those charges because Williams, they say, refused to testify against him.
Lynch is scheduled to be formally arraigned next month.
