PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Household chores may not be a priority for health care workers giving it their all in the fight against COVID-19. Now an on-demand lawn care service wants to take one task off their list, at no charge.

Plowz & Mowz is an online service, kind of like an Uber for landscaping and mowing services. The company is in 55 markets across the country, and recently added the Philadelphia area.

Co-founder Wills Mahoney is offering one free lawn mow to health care workers.

"They can go on our website," explained Mahoney, "or download our app. At the checkout screen, there's a coupon button or a coupon field, and all they have to do is type in the code HERO and they get a free lawn mow up to $60. And as long as you don't live on a farm you get a free lawn mow."

According to Mahoney, more than 2,500 lawns nationwide were mowed for free.
