A massive line started forming early in the morning in Runnemede. Hundreds of people waited outside, and a steady stream of cars flowed into the parking lot at the MVC and across the street. Police blocked the lot entrance for a time when it reached capacity.
It was especially frustrating for Ernie, who declined to give his last name. He and his family needed to get a vehicle title, which could not be done online while COVID-19 stay-at-home orders were in effect, or at the office Tuesday nearest to him in Salem.
“I’ve had my car sitting for about two months now, so I’m really excited to get it on the road," Sanders said.
