The county had asked Common Pleas Court to extend the deadline because of the high number of requests, along with delays from the U.S. Postal Service.
Tuesday was the last day to apply for a mail-in ballot to vote in the June 2 primary. But even if you already filled out your ballot and you put it in the mailbox today, it’s likely that it won’t be delivered by 5 p.m. on Election Day.
Montgomery County had asked to extend the mail-in deadline until 5 p.m. on June 9. Officials say they plan to appeal.
Montco election officials say they received more than 161,000 requests for mail-in ballots.
On top of that, about 2,000 voters returned a ballot for the wrong party. They were notified and received replacement ballots.
