The cold and rainy weather didn't stop people from coming out to the annual More Than Pink Walk, which replaced Race for the Cure.
Susan G. Komen Philadelphia CEO Elaine Grobman said they wanted to make the fundraiser more mission driven.
"We have refocused our event to educate the community, to raise funds," she said.
Naajma Moore braved the rain to celebrate her mother, a breast cancer survivor of 20 years, and seemed to appreciate the change.
"Weather doesn't matter. It's all about the cause, its all about helping, and bringing more awareness to the community," Hall said.
Mother and daughter Leah and Carole Woodland, who came out to the walk, are both survivors of breast cancer.
"There is hope and there is going to be a cure one day, sooner than later, for all of us," said Carole.
