PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A new year brings new laws, but there are still some old odd ones on the books.
In Pennsylvania, it's illegal to pretend to be a fortune teller and to tell someone where to dig for a treasure.
"It just says that it's illegal to pretend to be a fortune teller. It doesn't say that it's illegal if you actually can tell a fortune. So you know you just have to be a legitimate fortune teller, I guess, to stay on this side of the law in Pennsylvania," said KYW Newsradio's legal correspondent Amy E. Feldman.

Feldman says Delaware has some strange ones.
"There is actually a law that prohibits the selling of dog or cat fur, which makes you nervous about why they ever needed the law. It's a Cruella de Vil law i think, why did they ever need that one?" Feldman said.
As for the Garden State, "if you are going to drive a horse-drawn sleigh, you have to have bells on that sleigh in order to warn people. So I guess next December somebody should tell Santa about that, if he is thinking of switching from reindeer to horses," Feldman added.
